Membership Information

Opportunities exist for musicians from a wide range of musical ability and experience. There are regular weekly rehearsals, some weekend workshops and performances.

The Pop Orchestra is considered to be our entry-level ensemble, working on popular classics and contemporary music of moderate difficulty level.

The Community Orchestra prepares music from a wide variety of genres at a moderately high level of difficulty.

The Saturday workshops, held approximately once a month, allow non-South Burnett residents to become or remain orchestra members.

Concerts are presented once or twice a year and provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase our talent and musical progress for the enjoyment of the wider community.

Musicians who play with both the SB Community Orchestra and SBC Pop Orchestra only need to pay one annual membership fee.

We welcome musicians who are considering membership to contact us and arrange to visit a rehearsal.

The SBCO also holds occasional special event workshops with visiting tutors and invites other local musicians who are not currently orchestra members to join the orchestra for these special events. More information will be added to our Events page and on the SBCO Facebook page.

SBCO have a COVID safety plan to protect members and the community.
